Another good thing about America: The Motel 6 chain. On my road-trips through the States I somehow always manage not to have a place to stay when the sun starts setting. I should know better, I’ve paid 150 bucks or more on numerous occasions for rooms that should have cost half as much just because it was “the weekend” or because everything else in a 40 mile radius was booked during the holiday season. Fortunately Motel 6 always has that one extra room for me, regardless of time or location. Strange but true. Plus they have smoking rooms and they are dirt cheap, especially the Internet rates. Maybe they already know about me and the free promo they get when I’m staying in one of their rooms.
